Has someone added oil to the petrol like one would do for a 2 stroke?

If you dig about on the Briggs & Stratton website you should be able to
manuals for your engine. You'll need the Briggs engine number and type
that is stamped on the engine somewhere rather than a mower model number.
The Briggs site has info on where to find the number(s).
