Default bathtub stain from clothes dye

Kelly wrote:
How can I remove black stains on a porcelain bathtub caused by clothes
dye? I washed a pair of black jeans and hung them to try over the tub
and the drips caused stains that I've been unable to remove.

So far, I've tried bleach, ammonia, comet and ajax powder cleansers and
TSP, but none have removed or lightened the stains.

Thanks for any help.

It is hard to imagine a porcelain tub staining to that extent unless the
glaze is worn away - old tub? What kind of dye? Is there soap scum or
mineral deposits in the tuc that are actually stained, and not the
glaze? Hate to ask dumb questions, but glaze should not stain at all.
Could try CLR in case it is actually mineral deposits that are stained.
If RIT dye, they make a color remover but bleach should do as well.
