No need to manually delete at all. If you use Outlook express (and I am
sure there are other news capable programs that also have this), you need
to set up filters or rules. Then, although tedious at first, all you have
to do is come up with a list of words that appear in unwanted postings
(subject or in the body). Then these posts can be highlighted in another
color, or deleted, or moved into a temp. folder for later review. Either
way, there is really no need to go through hundreds of crap posts once set
up properly.

An alternative: since these attacks tend to run in a continuous string,
highlight the first one, page down to the last one while leaving the first
one highlighted and press the Shift key down and then highlight the last
one. At that point everything in between will be highlighted and you can
delete them en masse. It's true that if one or two responds are in the
middle of the sleeze they will be deleted as well.
