I don't get it. I use an old version of Free Agent for a reader. It
doesn't filter or kill anything. Being of reasonable intelligence I
can scan the message headers, see the topic and the name of the poster
and decide for myself whether to read a message or not.

After participating in a group for a while, I can figure out who has
something worthwhile to say and who doesn't. Same with following a
thread. When it drifts to the point I'm uninterested, I quit reading
it.

Since the messages are ascii I am unworried about "downloading a
virus".

How hard is this?
