Well I made the mistake of buying one of the 16' x 4' circle pools
(above-ground) last summer. I followed the directions verbatim for
preparing the pool for winter. All pump and filter supplies including
hoses were stored in a heated and dry basement. Usually wouldn't
mention brand names, but as I've now encountered BIG problems with the
pool and the company's website offers no "contact" info I'll just say
it--Intex. Sold in most Walmarts.I really thought that $600 for the
pool would lead to at least a few years of recreation. But this was not
so. The only thing left that is of any worth now is the actual frame,
the pump itself, and only one of the hoses. The liner has split open in
numerous places eveidently just from temperature changes, all but one
hose split nearly in half...

It is a mess and I've learned a great lesson. Wait until I can afford
to have a really nice inground pool put in. The cost of salvaging this
one came to more than I paid for the pool last summer.

Funny thing is, I know three other people that own this same brand. Two
have the 16', one has the 18'. Out of the 4 of us, only one has a pool
that lasted more than one year. All had the same problems regardless of
how they were stored (which all were based on their storgae
instructions). And all of us tried to contact them. Again no contact
info on their website. There was a phone number found but guess what?
Was told to deal with Walmart, not the manufacturer. There was only a
30 day return policy so...we are all now stuck and very unsatisfied
with this manufacturer. Use caution. Just a heads-up for potential new
pool owners. For $600+ each year I could just save that money and
eventually buy a nice one. $55 to have it hauled away as junk. Quite an
investment. My kids are thrilled.
