If you can, what "Holmes on Homes" a lot of his fixes he does for
home owners is because new house builders missed big things, and once
identified, stalled till the warranty ran out.

Code inspectors only have the time to check the overall condition of
systems, and structure, a home inspector will do his/her best to go
over the whole house.
