This is why you don't buy Compaq (Tandy/Radio Shack) in the first
place....Throw it away and get yourself something built by people
with a better-than-C-grade-point-average....Almost as bad as buying a
Dell..sheesh.....

You'll spend more time an effort than is necessary trying to fix
this...Consider it a lesson learned and do some research before you
get your next machine....
