From the 50's perhaps. A long black Ge with a dot near one leg. From
an old reel to reel tape recorder. The dot is the collector, center
leg is base and other is the emitter? Thank you for your time.

From 1973 manual

OD603 (confirmed OD not OC) by Telefunken

O_D_ 603? Are you really sure? That's a Ge pnp transistor for
AF power stages! From 1969 manual:

abs. max. ratings ________
-Vcbo 40 V I I metal case
-Vceo 30 V __I_______I__
-Vebo 10 V I_____________ICollector connected to
case
-Ic 3 A |||
Ptot 6 W @ tcase 45°C ||| C: blank wire
||| B: yellow insulation
||| E: green insulation

O_C_ 603 Ge pnp transistor for low noise input-stages.

abs. max. ratings ___
-Vcbo 22 V / \
-Vceo 12 V I I case: black painted glass
-Vebo 10 V I I
-Ic 50 mA I I
Ptot 50 mW @ tamb = 45°C I___I- colour dot

Yes curious, the 1973 UK Semicon data book mentions the data as I
transcribed along with manufacturer being Telefunken, also mentions a
variant OD603/50.
But a German 1987 ECO (Electronic+Acoustic GmbH) book mentions
the one you refer to along with variant OD603, but no mention of Telefunken,
completely different characteristics.

Thanks, everyone.
