Alas, nope. I have not found any stud scanner that can work through foil.


Thanks again to this group for the alternative trick for finding the
studs, which is to scan for the screw or nail heads using a magnet.
However, you still can't tell if there are pipes or wires behind the
foil.

Since all the studwork in this house is clad in foil-backed
plasterboard, I have no use for a stud finder here. Please can anyone
recommend a finder that will work well for just the other two jobs,
wires and metal buried under plaster?
