Default UK 8.4v 30mAh NiCd Cell

After some investigation I think you are right. The batteries will
probably cost £10.00 each perhaps more, the alarms probably £30.00 but
they should be better newer techonolgy.

Its actually a battery pack, just realised, with the small size cells
inside, it is about AAA size.

Hi,

My ageing smoke alarm needs a new 8.4v 30mAh NiCd Cell (about the
size of an AAA battery) with flat top. I'm not really clued up on
electronics. I assume the 30mAh is the charge hold value and it
doesn't matter if I get a cell with a higher value?

Anyway, any idea where I can get a replacement, have looked in
Maplins but to no avail.

You could probably buy a more sensitive alarm (complete with a hush button
this time) for less than the battery.
