Check welding stores for rebuilts. Around here they run $30 to $50
when available, and pass the same tests as brand new ones. They're
name-brand regulators because those are the ones they can get parts
for.


Indeed. Some shops have a barrel in the front of the store. You drop
in your set, get a rebuilt set in exchange. The barrel gets emptied
every so often by the rebuilder.

Very common in oil field country.
