Where do I start? SWMBO wants an extension and I am not so sure.

We need facts - who should we go to who will have experience of planning,
building control, and costs so that we can then decide if it is feasible to
continue.

Getting a builder doesn't seem right as they have a vested interest in
getting the job and may not err on the side of caution with planning
requirements.

I would like to know if it is feasible before getting quotes.
