There is no magic here. You can reduce apparent snow and noise to the
detriment of real resolution, sharpness and other just as noticable
artifacts.
In order to come up with any "real" and effective noise reduction
without large sacrifices and added artifactrs you would need to "encode
or emphasize" the original signal BEFORE the noise gets added by the
signal path and then "decode or de-emphasize" it AFTER the degradation
of the signal path.... much like dolby does for audio cassettes.
