Default roller-chain lube

Most of the chain lubricants I've seen contain molybdenum. They are
generally in an aerosol spray can and they're black because of the
molybdenum. Molybdenum is an excellent lubricant (similar to graphite) and
sticks tenaciously to metallic surfaces. Even when the carrier oil has
dissipated, the molybdenum will still be there to give lubrication. Go to a
motorcycle shop and ask for a moly chain lube.

Been told here & elsewhere WD-40 is not appropriate for drive chain
(roller type) lube for Dr Mower. What do you recommend? Would a
spray-on type silcone based lube be good?
