It seems even the advertisement people seem to think WD-40 is a good
lubricant. It is an oil based product, but a poor lubricant. It would
make a good cleaner for your application, but you need to follow up with a
good lube. You may want to try a bicycle shop, they will likely offer you a
water based cleaner (Like Simple Green) and a Teflon based lube.
