In my experience trying to fasten the pipe better just makes things
worse or simply changes the note and/or time it happens.

Easiest is to clean the valve. Worked for me.

Going to that trouble one may as well change to a Torbeck(tm) type,
apart from being far quieter they fill quicker as well.
