Unfortunately, articles like this give little "light" when someone is really
interested in knowing what to do. Lighting has become more complicated in
recent years with the growing use of compact fluorescent lamps, light
emitting diodes, energy regulations for residential lighting and an
ever-growing variety of lighting fixtures to say nothing of the numerous,
and often conflicting, opinions from so-called lighting designers.

My first rule is simply this: Without pictures showing the lighting effects
being discussed, the words are just massaging someone's ego. Lighting is
first and foremost a visual experience.
