Would have been funny to see people fighting over batteries. I've done
a bit of reading on survivalism from time to time, but I'm not a
survivalist by any means. Having said that though, keeping batteries
and flashlights on hand are just common sense - the least you can do.

Over here in PEI we didn't get hit too badly. Lots of wind and some
rain overnight, and I heard it's supposed to rain for the rest of the
morning, but it's stopped for the moment. I dunno, I don't get worked
up over things like this. All I think is, "Oh well, could be worse - we
could get a couple of feet of snow with the wind". That's coming soon
enough. *sigh* Almost time to hunker down for six months of winter.
:P But I do love the fall, with all the leaves changing and everything.

Is the storm over there or is it still going? Hope you made it through
with no damage from those flying lawn chairs!

damage does not have to be bad to cause major dificulties, the lack of
power will set in some panic with people who rely on it for well water
and cooking etc..."

she said "oh my god I never thought of that"

I said " well I have my 200 gals of fresh water and another 200 for
toilet, cleaning etc"

She got on the phone to tell her husband to fill the bathtub haha.

We talk a lot of **** on this news group but when the **** does hit
the fan if you have read any of the on topic posts and took notice you
would be able to ride out any minor thing like class 1 or 2 hurricane
(massive destruction not implied of course).

Any way folks thanks for all the info you have provided me in the past
and I will post a follow up. Its getting pretty windy now, a patio
chairs went flying down the road just now.

Time to get off line to safe the pc from a power surge.

Got to go eat some junk food and set up the SSB radio.
