quirky lcd?
hello. im not sure if this is the right group for this question and i am
no eletcronics whiz so plz bear with my limited terminology.
i bought a modestly priced stereo. it has 4 services: lp player, radio,
cassette player and cd player.
some of the elements on the liquid crustal display stop showing up. it
appears to be the same display elements ( two from the third character
set from the left) regardless of what service is being used, so i dont
think it can be a single flex cable
a little thump on the unit restores the character elements for awhile,
then the problem returns later, probably from being aggravated by the
soundwaves.
is this something that should be/can be repaired by a local (small town)
electronics repair company? or would the cost outweigh the benefits of
the repair?
