I normally work with wood, so I am ignorant of metal working, as you
speak of it here. A friend of mine, who posts here, suggests I visit
with you all, from time to time.

With respect to purchasing lathes, you might try government surplus
auctions for purchasing machinery and such. Periodically, I look in to
see if there is something I could use.
