You don't *have* to buy the parts, as indeed you didn't...

They lost a former customer, and possibly that decision may influence
other potential buyers reading this....

Why are any spares and consumables so transparently exhorbitantly priced?


a) It's a way of making money;
b) Costs are greater, per item, than for the original tool.


All this stuff that's said about buying expensive tools "because you
can get spares/service" is nonsense when the spare/service costs the
same as a whole new tool.
