I have an old B&D electric Grill (10 years) that works fine, except
that the plug gets very hot in the 20-30mins of usage. So hot that I
need to use a cloth to unplug it. This is a molded kind.
Could this cause a fire? This seems to have started a few months ago.
Can this wire and plug be replaced? Or just buy a new grill?
Yes, it could cause a fire or worse.
Does it unplug at both ends or is one end permanently wired into the
grill? If unplugs at both ends, bring it to a hardware store and get a
new one. If wired in, cut off 4-6 inches from the plug, and put a new
plug on.
