Well they can't buy them from us. The US Navy gave up our diesel sub
program decades ago. That leaves Germany, or Russia.

We (Oz) make/are making/have made Collins class submarines as well.
After a rocky start they seem to have ironed out some of the bugs. In
exercises off Hawaii with a US nuke alternating playing hunter and hunted
they hit as often as they were hit.
