The term boiler came up when they were used for more commercial purposes,
like shipping and other forms of transportation. Boiling water, right?

Well, somone realized that hot water, as well as steam could provide heat.
The pipes were smaller, and there was somewhat less problems. Even though,
the appliances used to heat the water were still called boilers.
