anyone replaced an existing a/c unit?

is it really as simple as they say for example on this unit
http://www.wholesaleac.com/shop/prod...roduct_id=1506

just hookup electric and in/out ducts to existing ducts?

Almost NEVER as easy as it sounds.
The link goes to a remote mounted compressor, or split system. You would
need to sweat the freon lines, pull a vacuum and then open the valves.

Package units can be cooling on top or side or bottom. Return will be
opposite the supply.
If your changing types or manufactures odds are you will need a new elbow
to connect to the ductwork.

You do realize if you buy it on line you will almost never get any warranty
from the company that sold it to you. Manufactures are pretty ****y about
EPA and CFC certifications. If you do not have them forget about warranty.
Sorta like buying a Formula One car to drive on the street. When it breaks
who ya going to call?
