Default Fibreglass poles

I have a Crossed beam sitting on top of my rotator, using an aluminum
pole. This passes right through the vertical elements, and is de-tuning
them, giving an SWR of almost 4:1, whereas the horizontal section is
spot on at 1.1:1. That's why I need a fibreglass pole!

But what about the coax? That's metal too, so replacing the pole may not
be a complete solution.

Also, are you absolutely sure the SWR problem isn't due to something
else, like a bad connection to the driven element?

What better man to correspond with!

Thanks Ian,

I have proven that it is a location issue by swapping the aerial through
90 degrees, and it remains with the vertical polarised half, so I don't
think coax or connections are at fault, which is what led me do blame it
on the 2" pole passing in line with the vertical elements, halfway
between director 1&2.

I'm open to any other suggestions, but so that we don't upset everyone
else on teh group, could we try email? My address (as despammed seems to
be down ATM) is garycavieATcustomnetDOTcoDOTuk.

Thanks once again
