Thanks for the replies. The one at woodturners.net has a 7" column &
37" spread.
I also got an email reply from someone with a 52" table that had an 8"
colunn with leg spread of 39".

I think I'll buy an 8" pedestal but legs should be easy to make with a
jigsaw & route to a pattern.
