Worker *cost* is quite a bit higher than worker *pay*

The cost of employment to an employer in the US is pay + 30%. That
would put the average worker at Delphi at an hourly rate of
$50.00/hour.

Now, it could be that Delphi's cost of employment was higher than 30%,
say, if they had to deal with unions.
