Ants

Anybody know of a good and effective ant killer. We have thousands of the
buggers outside on my drive. They appear to be living under it as there
are
a few 'exit' holes in-between the slabs. I have tried a supermarket
bought
product called Raid but after a day or so they come back. How do you get
rid of them?
TIA
John
I replied with the following to an earlier thread.
I always use some stuff from the pet shop which is supposed to be used
for killing mites in pigeon coops. I think its called duramitex and is
about £5 a bottle. A bottle mixed with a watering can of water and
draw a line around the house with it. Seems to last all summer.
To which someone else replied -
Eeeeeeek! That stuff contains Malathion - an organophosphate poison. Be
careful with it. If you spray it, avoiding breathing the vapour. Also avoid
getting it on your skin - wash it off quickly if you do. The same chemical
is in Derbac - an over the counter treatment for human parasites such as
lice and scabies.
I just use it poured from a watering can with no rose on it. I specifically
only use the watering can for this though.
