Between 50-25% water. New plaster will suck the water out of the
paint at a very high rate. Also don't paint new plaster too quickly -
allow time for it to dry out first.

This has always struck me as somewhat odd. Allow the plaster to dry
thoroughly and then wet it with highly diluted paint ! :-)
