Damn, my first gloat, and it's a mini... *sigh*

Had our usual neighborhood fire/dinner in the driveway last night....
neighbors
surprised me by not only knowing that it was my birthday, but finding out
from
my wife that I'd been lusting after a real vice to replace my POS 9"
harbor
fright one...

I just finished mounting a real woodworkers vice that actually has a dog
and
quick release!!
life is sooo good... lol

Maybe I am just jealous, since I don't have a real woodworking vice, but I
see a gloat as getting something for considerably less than it is worth. A
gift doesn't count unless they got it for considerably less than it was
worth, or they were getting rid of it.
Getting the vice at a garage sale (or ebay or an auction) for $5 would be a
gloat.
Getting the vice from your neighbor because he no longer had a use for it
would be a gloat.
Getting it at HD on clearance for $5 would be a gloat.
Finding it in the street would be a gloat. (Last month I found a piece of
exercise equipment in the street and sold it on Ebay for $375. I don't even
know what it does, but the buyer is happy.)

But maybe I am just jealous. I have a really nice metalworking vice, but it
just isn't the same.
