Mastercraft planers (canada)

I am in the market for a thickness planer. I have looked at the Ryobi, King
and Delta and have just noticed that Canadian tire has there 12.5" on sale
$150.00 off regular price this week. Does anyone have any first hand
experience with it. One thing I noticed about Canadian tire's planers is
there regular price is about $100.00 higher than equivalent models from
other manufacturers. Usually there tools are cheaper than other makes.
Actually this model looks like it is the same as 12.5" King and the Grizzly
brand.

I noticed that too... :-)

We have the King version $299. Very happy with it and they threw in two
sets of knives. We are still on the original set - not reversed yet.

You get a bit of snipe at the ends - but a sander fixes that.

It's in the shop pictures...

Have owned one of these for the past year. Will produce a little
snipe unless feed & out feed rollers are level with support. Still
using original knives after quite a few b/f. Enjoy
