reserves.

Not a chance.

$3.19 at Shell and Exxon in Houston

You can just walk over to the refinery and get gas.

Yes, I'm learning to order over the Internet,
leave the car in the driveway, and having my order delivered to me at my
front door--at less cost than if I had driven to the store, not
including time and gas. In this case, I found the local stores to either
not carry or be out of my size in what I was looking for. While I was
at it I ordered 50 shaving catridges for 50 cents apiece. I don't
begrudge my local stores from making a few dimes on each of my shaving
cartridges, but I begrudge Gillette for trying to take our game to a
whole nuther level (and eliminating perfectly-good product from the
retailers lineup)!

BTW, gas dropped to $3.199 in Indianpolis today from 3.399 this weekend.

I saw something rather practical the other day. At some of the stops on the
Autostrade (Italy) they had dual purpose solar panels. the panels were
mounted on a pipe that was about 9' high in the parking areas. They not
only made power, they gave customers shaded parking.

Hey, an off topic question. Are we making the most of the methane gas
produced in sewers and landfills? We could burn the stuff in our cars
(like propane) or use it to power generators for electricity.

The first week we stayed in Rosano, just outside of Florence. Drove over
the Futa Pass to Bolognia.

This week we are in Santa Maria di Castelleabate, a shore town below
Salerno. The villa is right on the beach and has beautiful gardens. One
day we drove down to Paterno, the town where my wife's father was born.
Overall, it has been a fantastic tip. We leave tomorrow to Milan and fly
out on Sunday.

You can see some pics here http://s1176.photobucket.com/albums/x326/esp45/

There are a total of four albums.

On a visit over 30 years ago, I saw methane gas being "siphoned" off of
the "settling pools" (surely the wrong word) as part of the process at
sewage treatment plants. I assume they are even better at it now.

Where did you go in Italy, Ed? *I'm guessing you were sampling the
salsicce as you went. *

The first week we stayed in Rosano, just outside of Florence. *Drove over
the Futa Pass to Bolognia.

Wonderful area. I've stayed in Feisole a couple of times. My
favorite restaurant in the world is only about 10 km from Rosano in
Montebeni.

This week we are in Santa Maria di Castelleabate, a shore town below
Salerno. *The villa is right on the beach and has beautiful gardens.

Another great area...I guess they all are in Italy. Have you ever
visited Paestum and the Greek temples there? Pretty close to
Castellabate.

One
day we drove down to Paterno, the town where my wife's father was born.
Overall, it has been a fantastic tip. *We leave tomorrow to Milan and fly
out on Sunday.

I was only in Sicily the once, and I didn't get to spend much time
there. I'd like to go back and spend more time and visit the heel of
the boot around Bari. I'd really like to see the trulli.

You can see some pics here *http://s1176.photobucket.com/albums/x326/esp45/

There are a total of four albums.

Excellent - I look forward to checking them out. Thanks.

Not exactly in the same league, but today I went to Eataly. God I
hate the name! But it's a really good place if you like good Italian
food, and who doesn't?

That's the closest I've been to Italy in three years.

What type of alternate energy are you campaigning for?

I answered:

Any/All.

-------------------------------
Somebody asked:

...no matter how much it costs.

--------------------------------
Define cost.

Fossil fuels carry many added costs in addition to the direct cost of
the fuel, which have been conveniently ignored.

As the world's population and consumption of fossil fuels continue,
the effects are easier to identify.

1) Air pollution costs such as deterioration of "bricks & mortar"
facilities are increasing.

2) Health care costs from COPD related diseases such as asthma are on
the rise.

3) Climate change costs such as floods, droughts, hurricanes,
tornadoes, etc are increasing.

There are more, but you get the idea.

Can definitive costs be attributed to a specific amount of a specific
fuel being concerned?

Hardly; however, there is no question the evidence supports the fact
these events are happening.

It's up to us if we clean up our mess.

The planet will adapt and survive.

Human civilization as we know it may not.

Check out anaerobic digesters.

Standard bio-mass technology.

The State of Ohio has a pilot plant operation under test to collect
cow poop from farms, convert to methane, run turbine/generator to
generate electricity to run the Ag Experiment station located at
Wooster, OH.

The whole thing was less than $10Meg.

An interesting item, especially for a dairy in a small town such as
Orrville, OH.
