With the new maker of Ridgid woodworking power tools sold at Home Depot
comes a new warranty.

The new warranty is now limited to 3 years. Apparently OWT is now
responsible for the new line of Ridgid power tools and the new warranty.
All new Ridgid power tools will have a 90 day satisfaction guarantee or
return it to where you bought the tool.

The good news is, If you buy "ANY" of the new line of Ridgid power tools
between September and December 2003, you will get as close to a true life
time warranty that any one has to offer. This includes stationary,
bench-top, corded, and cordless tools. To be specific, the limited time
offer of the Lifetime warranty "includes" normal wear items. Batteries and
battery chargers are included. So if you purchase a new line Ridgid
cordless drill and the battery ever poops out it is covered for free
replacement. You must return it to an authorized repair center, not HD, and
keep proof of purchase with date of purchase to prove that it was purchased
during the qualified time. The Ridgid rep strongly suggested making copies
of the receipt as many receipt fade over the years.

The warranty does not include blades, sand paper, drill bits or consumable
accessories. Batteries and chargers are considered to be a vital part of
the tool and "will be" covered under the life time warranty providing there
is no abuse and the tool is purchased between September and December of
2003.
