If we don't start reporting these spammers en-masse, they will be able to
take over this and several other groups they are targetting. For the last
several weeks, every spam has parse-traced either to google.com or shaw.ca
without exception.

What spammers are you talking about? I see only one or two spams daily, that
make it through my filters.

In your e-mail tell 'em what you don't like and include the full
message (including headers) you're complaining about.

You can get the header info by right-clicking on the message in the
message tree window and selecting "properties" and "Details" in the
pop-up window. To get both headers and full message text, click on
"Message Source" in the pop-up window.

And many of them are forged. NNTP-Posting-Host is forged less often, but it
is sometimes missing. The Path list is probably the best as long as it
doesn't show "MISMATCH" in it. But IIRC, even it can be forged.

Short answer, it's difficult if not impossible to locate the professional
spammer. What you can do is nab the amateur.
