Workbench Magzine Jan-Feb 2003 Miter Saw review?

I read that article with great interest, as I was in the market for a 12"
slider at the time. Workbench ranked the RIDGID fourth out of seven saws,
but said the top five saws were close to being equal in performance. On the
whole, they seemed to like the RIDGID, but they did criticize it for poor
bevel tuning (though they did suggest a simple fix) and for being too big. I
haven't seen one, but photos suggest that it's twice the size of many other
similar saws.

Thanks to that article, I became aware of bosch's new 12" SCMS and went out
of my way to see one before making up my mind. After seeing that Bosch, my
decision was easy. I've found it to be an amazing tool, and better, still,
now that I have it mounted on a RIDGID miter saw stand. Food for thought,
maybe.

I am thinking of purchasing the new Ridgid 12" Compound sliding miter
saw -model ms1290. This saw was reviewed in the Jan/Feb 2003 issue of
Workbench Magazine, and was not listed as a editor's pick or a "best
buy"

I am hoping someone has a copy of the article so I can find out what
workbench magazine did not like about the saw.

Any info would be appreciated.
