Default cheap hold down clamps for 3/4" dog holes - any good?

Has anyone used the Jorgensen 1650 hold down clamp on their bench? The
mount through a 3/4" dog hole.

Coastal tools has them in packs of two for $10.95 (less than $6.00 apiece).
At this price, if they work at all, they seem worthwhile.

Here's the link to the clamps I am talking about: http://tinyurl.com/74sf2
