Huh. In the spring of ~1973, a friend and I went backpacking in Death
Valley, CA. We went to a place called the "Desert Hound Mine", where
we found a treasure trove of old stuff, including a stack of old
magazines from the 1930's.

One advertisement had none other than a grinning Fred McMurray eating
a bowl of Campbell's soup, with the headline "Oodles of Noodles".

Other notable adds:

A Mrs. Rockefeller standing on he wing of a small airplane smoking a
cigarrette, headline: "For digestions' sake, smoke Camels".

"And now there's a bike for sale", with a picture of a crippled young
boy with leg braces and his bike with a "For Sale" sign. The add was
for Band Aids.

That's a riot. And if they did it today there would be a riot! g

Are both ends tapered? Can't tell real well by looking at the photo.

Yes, 3" on each end go from 1.5" to 1".

Yes, and it is very time consuming cutting each noodle with scissors.

Being a better wood butcher than a cook, Doug, I have to ask...

What is "1/2 egg shell water?"

I've never heard the term before. When I DAGS I found how to "make"
eggshell water for it's calcium content. Is that what you're referring
to only missing that it should be 1/2 CUP of eggshell water?

When you crack an egg, you end up with two half shells. Fill one of
the half shells with water and add to the mix. Saves looking for a
measuring cup or just guessing incorrectly.

How do you get all of those little pieces that fall into everything else,
back into the egg shell to make that 1/2 egg shell measuring thing?

You mix um up, and add the 1/2 egg shell of water, and roll them out?
Nice. My wife made noodles many years ago at a restaurant.
I believe they had a noodle cutter too.
These are sliced? or scissored?

A knife works but can "pull" and wrinkle unless surgically sharpened.
I've started using a pizza wheel style cutter.

Roll out dough into a sheet, allow to air dry, then roll sheet up like
a
jelly roll and cross cut with a knife.

At least that's the way mom did it with out any problems.

The answer to this question has eluded all the King's horses and all the King's
men for centuries.
