Never mind on the ID, I found out it was mismarked... it's a Rockwell

I have seen some old iron in my time. But that thing is a new one on me.

I looks a little like an industrial version of a meat cutter for a deli.

I would be very uncomfortable getting my hand too close to that blade when
it was running.

Funny, I thought meat slicer the first time I saw it too! Initially thinking
it had similar functionality, I couldn't figure out how the veneer would
exit in one piece due to the small diameter. ;~)

Looks like the big brother to the microplane system they have for
drill presses now.

I remember those. If you can find an old copy of " The Complete Book
Of Woodworking" by Rosario Capotosto it has a section on this very
machine.
With it, it's possible to work with very small pieces quite safely as
there is no danger of kickbacks. Very accurate depth of cut
adjustments as well as I recall.
I think it's more than just a conversation piece .... it's useful too
!

The uniplane is very useful for planning highly figured wood. It has 8
cutting bits, 4 for rough cutting and 4 for finishing the cut. No grain
pulling. It spins at 7200 RPM.
