Almost Finished Master Br. TV Cabinet
1 Attachment(s)
All that's left on this cabinet is the doors and install the shelf. 4 Roman
Arch doors will be used on this cabinet to go along with the arches in the bedroom. I'm having someone build them since they can be built cheaper than I can build them. I should have turned those lights down above the cabinet, it looks like the cabinet is on fire. BTW these are customer cabinets. And it's a design I came up with. BTW These are two seperate cabinets joined together when placed in the opening. Much to hard to get these monsters up the stairs but would have built them that way anyway. -- "You can lead them to LINUX but you can't make them THINK" |

Will remotes work through them? -- Mortimer Schnerd, RN mschnerdatcarolina.rr.com |

A shelf will be installed, Roman Arch Doors (4) The cables behind TV can be brought up to hide them. There is an infrared wire that connects to bottom of TV, very small and not noticeable, then connects to DVD or Home Theater. Most new electronics come with this device for that very reason. I also had to move the cable outlet to get it into the cabinet door area and out of the exposed shelf location. -- "You can lead them to LINUX but you can't make them THINK" |

2 coats of primer/sealer and 2 coats of white gloss latex over poplar. -- "You can lead them to LINUX but you can't make them THINK" Very nice - I like the detail on the face frames. Did you spray the finish or brush it on? If you don't have an HVLP unit and are going to be building many more painted units I highly recommend one. I started out just brushing my painted finishes and the addition of an HVLP unit was a godsend - both in terms of speed and quality of finish. Then you can also start using pigmented lacquers as your topcoat - my preferred "painted" finish. Again, nice job - thanks for sharing. Eric |

The horizontal pieces are bead and belly and the vertical are custom cut, cove with a thin kerf saw cut about 5/8" from edges. Hard to see from picture. Yes I need to invest in a HVLP. Can you spray latex or is lacquer about it. I'm sure spraying lacquer is more preferred anyway. What about primers and sealer? I need to read much more about painted finishes. -- "You can lead them to LINUX but you can't make them THINK" |

In general lacquers will provide a much nicer finish anyway and are more suitable for spraying. There are several lines of waterborne lacquers, sealers, etc. that allow you get started spraying without an expensive explosion proof booth.
