lathe tool rack (0/1)
 

A few folks have asked for pictures..

This was one of those "temporary" things that I was going to "do right" if it
worked..
Been over a year and haven't seen the need to do it right.. lol

Stuff on the back rack is seldom used stuff, like the beading tools, and "guest"
tools..
The ones used daily are on the front, top, sides, etc.. a real mess, but it
works..
I didn't notice the mirror when I took these... sort of a wrap around shot..

Looks quite functional. Funny thing, I didn't look at the name for the
posting, but as soon as I saw the picture with the tile shop floor, I
immediately thought, "that must be mac's shop" and then confirmed by
looking at the posting name.

Yeah... it works well.. the key to it all is a LOT of rare earth magnets, magnet
cups and #4 flat head screws.. all from Lee Valley except the screws..

It's STILL weird working on a tile floor, but as usual, my wife was right when
she suggested that the shop be part of the house..
ESPECIALLY this summer..

Yep.. a small rare earth magnet in a matching cup for each chisel..

I use "A"

Matching cups:

The cups focus the magnetic force and make a difference..

I also use a thin shelf under each row to sort of line things up and help the
magnets with round tool shafts on things like bowl gouges..
