Not sure how $4000 compares to brand new price for a Oneway 2036. $5500 for new Oneway 2036. 27% discount. Just $300 less than the 2436. And the 2036 is the lesser step sister old hag of the 2436 lathe. Why spend that amount of money on a Oneway and only get 20 inch swing for a few hundred more you can get 24 inch swing. I would guess Oneway sells ten 24 models for every 20 model. Big box contains the variable speed dial and on/off switches and forward/reverse switch. Below is a picture of a Vicmarc lathe with a similar control box magnetically stuck to the lathe. No Oneway lathes have swivel head. All are fixed head lathes with outboard platforms you mount to the back side and move the tailstock and tool rest over to that side.
