this is quite a big lathe

ebay.com/itm/24-x-84-Oliver-Pattern-Makers-Lathe-/381420381858

would make a nice restoration project and could still do some real
big work

make sure you have a fork lift

Looks like the motor end has been underwater. A lot of rust up to a level.

It looks like a metal lathe that was converted. Can you match this
design up to a 24x84 Oliver ? Hope so.

that end does have a lot of rust
so maybe stored badly or

it was in use with electrical problems which could cause the lathe to
corrode more quickly with the lathe acting as an anode

the ad does mention electrical problems

it is an odd bird for sure
it has that shaft that looks to be connected to a pulley

a pattern maker lathe may have unusual attachments

this looks similar with the shaft and the pulley exposed
but the shaft is smooth looking so not sure of the purpose

Looks like this machine and wonder if the housing is
normal or is a motor housing that was adapted to keep belts
from flying or dust into it...
