Gloat and question

I went to a surplus auction at the local high school this weekend, Lots of
old computer junk and old textbooks, and sitting off by itself and old
Rockwell / Delta 46-450 Lathe. The lathe was missing the Tailstock and
tool rests, and a little surface rust on the bed, but all in all in pretty
good shape. It has the typical rockweell reeves drive variable speed drive
with a 1 hp three phase 220/440 motor. And now for the gloat. Nobody
wanted to bid, so I got the Lathe for five bucks, It's worth more than
that for scrap steel

Now I have to decide if I want to scrap the 3 phase motor for a smaller one
and use the reeves drive, or buy a VFD controller and make it a variable
speed 220 motor.

Anyone know where I can pick up a tailstock for an old rockwell lathe. I'm
guessing any old 12 delta tailstock should work O.K. maybe I'll try Ebay

Gloat and question

Yep, sure will fit. I'm using the 4 speed model with a 3/4, and that's
more'n enough for the capacity.

Imagine you know to call Delta for a manual?

This is well worth converting to a VFD drive. Check out
www.automationdirect.com
or
www.dealerselectric.com
for good units at reasonable prices.
