San Diego Woodturner's 3rd Annual Mini Symposium
All,
The San Diego Woodturners are hosting their 3rd Annual Mini-Symposium on August 16th from 8:30 to 4:30. The Symposium will be held at the San Diego Woodturning Centre located at: 12527 Kirkham Court Poway, CA 92064 or see their website to get directions: http://www.sdwoodturning.com/ This year's symposium will feature local turners performing the following demonstrations: Basic Turning Cuts - Gouges, parting tools and skews Bowl Coring Wood Orientation for Grain, Color and Yield Novice Projects Small hollow vessels Chainsaw Maintenance and Use Weedpots Simple Boxes Hollow Vessel using the Stewart system Suction Fit Boxes Carving & Texturing Hollowing through the bottom Turning Spheres and Eggs Finishing and Buffing Small Spindle Projects We are also please to announce that Phil Brennion, AAW Board Member, will be participating and turning translucent Ponderosa Pine bowls (as seen in Wood magazine). Phil would also like the opportunity to meet people from all Southern California clubs (or any other club) to discuss what the AAW can do better for local chapters. If you would like to attend the Symposium, no advanced registration is needed. Simply come the day of the event. The fee will be $20 for SDWT members and $25 for nonmembers.
