The Woodturning Show on PBS
The next episode of Woodturning with Tim Yoder on PBS that's showing
out here is going to feature Alan Lacer. I had sent him an e-mail for some advice and he was very helpfull. It's going to be on sharpening so I'm going to be watching for sure plus recording it. Jim -- |

Not a beginner show. He was using a Stubby 1000 lathe. |

I usually donate a bowl during fund raiser auction time - maybe that'll help persuade them. Or get the whole turning club to email them! Sure wish I could find back episodes on Hulu or Netflix... ....Kevin -- Kevin Miller - http://www.alaska.net/~atftb Juneau, Alaska In a recent survey, 7 out of 10 hard drives preferred Linux Registered Linux User No: 307357, http://linuxcounter.net |

However PBS has added another channel called CREATE which does. You might check your listings to see if it is available in your area. It may be listed as your regular channel no. plus .2 or .3. Our PBS channel is 3, and CREATE is listed as 3.3. And Comcast puts it on 242. |

I can try and convert them and maybe get them uploaded some how but don't hold me to that. It would be a new computer skill to learn but I'm game. Maybe the on coming up on sharpening. Jim in ID -- |

Might inquire if they are broadcasting additional over-the air digital channels, which your present setup (due to age or due to converter because of age?) isn't picking up. PBS stations have been among the most enthusiastic early adopters of the (no longer all that new) digital broadcast spectrum possibilities. I personally only got a new TV a couple of months ago - much as I do with brave new computer stuff, I like to give these things a few years to work out the bugs and get the price down to a reasonable level. 20 years (~old TV to new) has made a bit of a difference. -- Cats, coffee, chocolate...vices to live by Please don't feed the trolls. Our old TV decided to die just as the conversion was taken place. It was probably 35yrs old. Good timing. Jim in ID -- |
