Leo - a solution to your sheet goods "challenge"

Saw your response to "Which Saw" and noted that
you do sheet goods too and therefore "need" a
table saw. Even with a decent sliding table, cutting
up 4x8 sheets of ply is a PITA. The solution - the
Festool plunge circular saw with it's zero clearance
straight guide. Put the guide ON THE LINE, no need
to deal with an offset for the distance between the
edge of your circular saw's "shoe" and the closest
side of the saw blade, set the depth stop to a hair
more than the thickness of the ply and cut a nice
straight, square to the face, edge - with NO chip
out - on either face of the goods. And if you want
to make cabinets no site - in an occupied house
-get their Dust Extractor (theirs and the Fein
ARE NOT vacuum cleaners and NOTHING like a
ShopVac or its cousins - members of the SCREAMERS
family of Deafining Devices).
