Turning cypress

I have eight 12" by 12" by 36 cypress finials to turn. The only cypress I
have turned is sinker cypress but this will be regular cypress. What are
it's turning charastics?

I'm turning spindles for the front porch out of Florida Pond Cypress.
When doing bead work I attepmted a beading tool, but found out that I
deffinately have to do them with a skew or spindle master. It's been
drying for a while, but is still is real soft to work with. It has a
deffinate fragrant smell when you turn it. Hope that helps some.
