Would somebody explain what the "Woodworking Channel" is all about. I've

I think this is a great idea, as television generally sucks beyond words, and we don't get DIY network or David Marks or anything else here in fuel-screw land except the occasional Norm episode. I believe they have a few technical issues to work out, so I'd say at this point to "give it some time". It's ironic that I get decent video, but the audio on the actual content is almost inaudible - even with all settings maximized - but when the advertising content comes up, it'll blast you out of your seat. Hopefully, these issues will be addressed soon, because I almost drooled on the keyboard when I saw the list of programs that were lined up for broadcast - 24/7. FWIW, Greg G. |

I get nothing but 'lost connection - reconnect now' and can't even see their menus. Seems they do have a ways to go. Subsequent broadcasts have improved, and a repeat broadcast of a Sam Maloof segment was actually audible. I would suspect that your particular problems are more related to your connection or computer setup than on their end. I would suggest that connection speed is also a critical component in getting a usable stream. I serve video from out servers occasionally, and you really need about three times the bandwidth of what is claimed for it to actually work. And it is pretty much a Microsoft Windows product oriented production. I am using Win2k and Media Player 9. Absolutely will not go any further on either as far as versions. The site makes uses a combination of Flash, Javascript, and Microsoft Media Player for the streaming video. Check your firewall for blocked ports, etc. Getting some of this stuff to work is all a black art... FWIW, Greg G. |

The River Edge Complex area looks nothing like how I remember it when contracting there many years ago. I don't even know if it still exists, however, as I've not been by there in 18 years, and time has not been kind to IBM. The Domain is registered by proxy, but with a little help from my friends, reveals a few interesting names, and I was surprised to see that it is a local enterprise. On comcast I get good Sound. The picture on the small screen is good.
When put on full screen it gets grainy so I left it on the small screen. The buttons on left dont work IE schedule,programs,feedback etc. |

Guess I'm lucky - works great and but grainy full page. No problem until you
need to see a detail. I'm using CATV high speed modem. American Woodshop - all of us, well most of us, I'm sure have that much space to work in. Well, maybe I don't, but I'm sure you guys do! Right? About half of a garage. ;-) And an upcoming move is probably going to reduce it to none. Probably should sell all the bigger power tools instead of storing them for some indeterminate period of time. I've even had it working with Firefox and mplayerplug-in under Linux - it
was a pleasant surprise how easy it was to set up. As others have said, it can be fuzzy when full screen, as for the audio, it's generally good for me though I sometimes hear a slight dull thumping/ticking in the background. To get a larger picture with decent resolution I change my screen resolution
