Branding Iron Question?
Hi
I'm expecting a branding iron from Lee Valley shortly. The type that you heat with a propane torch. Advice! Do you burn your mark before or after the finish? Keith Newfoundland |

Burning through a finish will make a mess and create lots of unpleasant fumes. Even burning plain wood creates some residue around the edges which I lightly sand (400/800) to remove it. Sorry to hear about the lazy susan. -- Derek Andrews, woodturner http://www.seafoamwoodturning.com http://chipshop.blogspot.com - a blog for my customers http://www.seafoamwoodturning.com/TheToolrest/ - a blog for woodturners |
