Default Branding Iron Question?

Hi

I'm expecting a branding iron from Lee Valley shortly. The type that you
heat with a propane torch. Advice! Do you burn your mark before or after the
finish?

Before. Burning through a finish will make a mess and create lots of
unpleasant fumes. Even burning plain wood creates some residue around
the edges which I lightly sand (400/800) to remove it.

Sorry to hear about the lazy susan.

That should only happen once Keith. Now follow the link below and it will
never happen again! Watch for any line wrap in the URL.
